The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of NASU and SSANU, along with NAAT, has instructed its members to return to work after the successful completion of the seven-day warning strike.
The strike was declared following the exclusion of members from the payment of four months’ withheld salaries.
The leadership of the three unions commended the dedication and commitment of their members during the strike and assured them that the struggle for the payment of withheld salaries would continue.
They also highlighted other ongoing issues, such as the renegotiation of agreements and the payment of earned allowances, which will receive attention.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives Committees on Education have invited the unions and the Minister of Education to a meeting to address the issues that led to the strike.
