NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa, has urged President Tinubu to declare a state of emergency on drug abuse. Speaking at a Lagos business forum, Marwa highlighted the alarming rise in substance use, warning of a 40% increase in drug abuse by 2030.
He called for collective action, advocating for public awareness and support for NDLEA’s ongoing anti-drug campaigns.
Since 2021, the NDLEA has arrested over 52,000 drug offenders, including barons, and seized 8.6 million kilograms of illicit drugs.
Marwa urged communities to join efforts to protect youths and support NDLEA’s mission to combat the drug menace.
