Nigeria Reopens Borders with Niger Republic Following ECOWAS Resolution

President Bola Tinubu has directed the reopening of Nigeria’s land and air borders with the Republic of Niger, in compliance with ECOWAS decisions.

The move follows the lifting of economic sanctions against Niger and other West African countries.
Sanctions included border closures and flight restrictions aimed at addressing regional stability concerns.
Nigeria’s decision to reopen borders signals a commitment to regional cooperation and economic integration within the ECOWAS framework.
