NLC Halts Nationwide Protest, Extends Ultimatum

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has suspended its nationwide protests following achievements made on the first day of demonstrations, as declared in a communiqué after its National Executive Council meeting.

While acknowledging success, the NLC extended its ultimatum to the Federal Government by another seven days, now expiring on March 13, 2024.

The Congress emphasizes the need for government compliance with earlier agreements and demands, with further action to be decided upon if necessary after the ultimatum.

Meanwhile, economic activities were halted across the country on Tuesday amidst rising inflation, economic hardship, and the removal of petrol subsidy, issues prompting the protests
