The League of Northern Democrats (LND), led by former Kano Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, has inaugurated a committee to review President Bola Tinubu’s proposed tax reform bills.
Amidst public concern over the bills’ potential to worsen regional poverty, LND aims to ensure fairness and developmental equity.
Spokesman Dr. Ladan Salihu stated that the committee, comprising legal, economic, and legislative experts, will scrutinize the bills for clauses that might harm northern interests.
Recommendations will be shared publicly in a detailed report aimed at fostering national unity and sustainable development. The group assured Nigerians of its commitment to justice and economic growth.
