The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has assured corps members that they will soon begin receiving a minimum monthly allowance of N77,000.
Speaking in Abuja during the commissioning of a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company, Ahmed disclosed that arrangements for the new allowance have been finalized.
Ahmed emphasized that the welfare and security of corps members remain a priority, ensuring they receive all benefits due to them starting in 2025.
The bus donation, he explained, aims to alleviate transportation challenges faced by NYSC staff.
Chief Executive Officer of Capital Express Insurance, Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, highlighted the company’s long-standing partnership with NYSC.
He noted that the bus donation aligns with efforts to ease transportation difficulties caused by rising fuel prices in Abuja.
Ogwezhi urged organizations to give back to society, emphasizing that impactful contributions define an organization’s legacy.
The NYSC DG expressed gratitude for the gesture, reiterating the scheme’s commitment to improving the welfare of its staff and members.
