Obasanjo Commends Abia Governor Otti for Pension Law

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo praised Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for repealing the law that allowed former governors and deputies to collect pensions.

Obasanjo commended Otti for his decisive action, describing the pension scheme as “daylight robbery.” He urged other governors to follow Otti’s example to reduce the cost of governance.

Otti affirmed his administration’s commitment to providing infrastructure and good governance for the people of Abia State.

The Abia State House of Assembly recently passed a bill revoking pensions for former governors and deputies, which Otti subsequently signed into law.
