The Plateau State Police Command has refuted reports of a bomb near Murtala Mohammed Way, Jos, calling it a false alarm.
Commissioner Emmanuel Adesina, through DSP Alabo Alfred, stated that after a thorough investigation on Monday morning, no explosives were found.
Panic arose when a shallow hole was suspected to house an IED, prompting security cordons and an examination by the command’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit.
The area was cleared and declared safe, with residents urged to resume normal activities. Governor Caleb Mutfwang supported the police findings, attributing the scare to misinterpreted polythene bags.
He called for public vigilance and responsible information sharing, assuring continued commitment to peace and stability in the region.
