Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, aka KWAM 1, is under police investigation over an incident that disrupted a ValueJet flight at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on August 5, 2025.
Police spokesman DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority petitioned the Force, alleging KWAM 1 violated aviation regulations by obstructing aircraft operations.
The altercation reportedly began when airline staff asked him to surrender a flask suspected to contain alcohol, a banned item on domestic flights. KWAM 1 allegedly refused and blocked the aircraft from taxiing.
The NCAA subsequently suspended the flight crew and placed KWAM 1 on a six-month no-fly list. He has since apologised, denying any intent to disrupt operations.
Police say the probe aims to determine the full circumstances and ensure compliance with aviation laws.
