2027: Wike-Backed PDP Insists No Alliance with APC

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has firmly denied any plans to form an alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking in Abuja, the group expressed confidence in its ability to defeat the ruling party at the polls without any merger or coalition.

The faction, which has often clashed with the main PDP leadership, said it is focused on rebuilding the party and presenting a credible alternative to Nigerians.

The statement comes amid speculation that some politicians across parties are exploring post-election coalitions. The Wike-backed group insisted that the PDP remains strong and capable of winning the presidency in 2027.

They urged party members to remain united and avoid distractions. Meanwhile, the main PDP leadership has not officially commented on the alliance rumours, but internal divisions within the party continue to fuel political uncertainty.
