Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has formed the Kano Elders Council (KEC) to advise his government on various matters. The council consists of former leaders, retired judges, traditional rulers, religious leaders, business people, and other eminent elders from the state.
The governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, announced this in a statement on Sunday. He said the governor will seek to benefit from the knowledge, wisdom, and experience of the elders. He also said the date for the inauguration of the council will be announced later.
