The 22 governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
This declaration was made during the APC National Summit held Thursday at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, moved the motion for Tinubu’s adoption, which was seconded by Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani.
Uzodimma charged APC governors to take full responsibility for promoting federal policies and ensuring electoral victories in their states come 2027.
Present at the summit were Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, lawmakers, and party leaders from across the country. A standing ovation and voice vote sealed Tinubu’s endorsement.
Governor Uzodimma stated, “To accelerate Nigeria’s journey to prosperity, we must rally behind President Tinubu’s second-term bid.”
The motion also included a vote of confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, with party stakeholders pledging unified support heading into the 2027 election season.
