Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended congratulations to the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its victories in the Imo and Kogi gubernatorial elections held on Saturday.
APC’s Hope Uzodinma secured a landslide victory in the Imo governorship election, polling 540,308 votes to defeat rivals from the PDP and Labour Party.
Similarly, Usman Ododo of the APC emerged as the winner in the Kogi state governorship election with 446,237 votes.
In a statement by Garba Shehu, Spokesperson to former President Muhammadu Buhari, expressed gratitude to party leaders and workers for their efforts in ensuring the victories, and he thanked the residents of both states for reaffirming their confidence in the APC.
Buhari also extended his best wishes to Uzodinma and Ododo as they begin their tenures.
