The Appeal Court in Abuja has ruled against the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, who is of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a Certificate of Return to the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Nentawe Goshwe.
The lead Justice, Elfrieda Williams-Dawodu, set aside the Tribunal’s judgment that affirmed Mutfwang’s election, deeming it highly incompetent.
The court highlighted violations of the constitution and electoral laws, stating that Mutfwang was not validly sponsored by the PDP and that the party’s congress was conducted in violation of a court order.
The ruling directs INEC to retrieve Mutfwang’s certificate and issue a new one to the APC candidate..
