The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has denounced President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies as “inhumane” and warned Nigerians that his re‐election bid in 2027 would deepen the country’s woes.
In a Friday statement, CUPP spokesperson Mark Adebayo accused the All Progressives Congress administration of “crude injustice, destabilisation and unpatriotic governance” that has left Nigeria “rudderless.”
CUPP blasted escalating insecurity—weekly massacres in Plateau, Benue, Borno and beyond—arguing that “entire towns are being ravaged by bandits and killer herders while the federal government slumbers.”
It also slammed Tinubu for neglecting critical agency boards (NPA, FIRS), leaving them leaderless nearly two years after formation. “Without boards, contracts and expenditures are illegal and open to rampant corruption,” the party said.
Calling the president more preoccupied with personal health than national security, CUPP urged Nigerians to “deliberately vote out APC in 2027” to avert state collapse. “A government that created these problems cannot solve them,” the coalition declared, warning that a second Tinubu term would bring “unmitigated corruption, incompetence and insecurity.”
Opposition parties must unite to field a credible alternative, CUPP insisted, if Nigeria is to escape further decline.
