Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has boldly declared that opposition forces will oust President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the Arewa Tech Fest in Katsina on Wednesday, El-Rufai said the opposition coalition is mobilizing nationwide to achieve this goal.
“We are sending Tinubu back to Lagos,” El-Rufai said, stressing that the current administration has failed to address the needs of the people.
However, he added that Tinubu’s minister from the North would be retained in the new political structure.
El-Rufai’s statement adds weight to the growing coalition movement seeking to challenge Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
His remarks follow increasing criticism of the Tinubu administration, particularly from northern political figures concerned about insecurity, economic hardship, and governance issues.
The former governor’s comments are expected to intensify the political contest ahead of 2027, especially as northern blocs consolidate their stance on electoral alternatives.
