El-Rufai Warns of Nigeria’s Collapse if APC Wins 2027 Election

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has issued a dire warning that Nigeria may lose its remaining social cohesion if President Bola Tinubu’s APC secures a second term in 2027.

Speaking in Sokoto during a mobilisation event hosted by the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), El-Rufai accused the current government of failing Nigerians.

“This is not about ambition—it’s about survival,” he said, adding that the administration’s policies endanger the nation’s future.

A founding member of APC, El-Rufai defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in March 2025 over policy disagreements.

He described the ADC-led mobilisation as the start of a national movement to oust the APC and restore public trust in governance.
