Ganduje Missed Tinubu’s Kano Visit Due to London Trip, Says Aide

Former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje was absent during President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to Kano due to a prior engagement in London, his former Chief of Staff Malam Muhammad Garba has clarified.

In a statement, Garba dismissed speculations that Ganduje was sidelined or unwell, saying the ex-governor had pre-booked travel plans. Although Ganduje was informed of Tinubu’s visit, attempts to adjust his itinerary failed.

“Despite being abroad, he was in constant communication with key APC leaders to ensure the president’s visit went smoothly,” Garba stated.

He added that Ganduje’s resignation as APC National Chairman has not strained his relationship with the president. “The APC in Kano remains united and loyal to President Tinubu’s leadership,” Garba noted.

His absence had sparked rumours of a political rift, especially amid internal tensions within the Kano APC.

The clarification is seen as an effort to reassure the party’s supporters and quell speculation about divisions following Ganduje’s recent political setbacks.
