Gov Eno vows not to hand over Akwa Ibom treasury to desperate politicians

Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has declared that he will not hand over the state’s treasury to what he described as “desperate politicians” ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking on Monday, the governor insisted that Akwa Ibom cannot be entrusted to recycled leaders with no proven record of public service.

He accused some politicians of eyeing the state’s resources for personal gain rather than the development of the people.

The statement has stirred political debate, with some interpreting it as a warning to opposition figures and even potential successors.

Governor Eno urged citizens to remain vigilant and support his administration’s efforts to ensure that the state’s wealth is used for the common good.

The comment highlights the intense political maneuvering already underway ahead of the next general elections.
