The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that 1.91 million Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) have been collected in Osun State ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
This figure represents 81.50% of the total registered voters in the state. The commission disclosed this on Thursday, assuring that all sensitive materials have arrived at the Central Bank in Osun for distribution.
INEC also confirmed that non-sensitive materials have been deployed to local government areas. The high PVC collection rate is seen as a positive sign for voter participation, though concerns remain over logistics and security.
Political parties have been urged to adhere to electoral guidelines, while security agencies have been deployed to ensure a peaceful exercise.
