In a significant show of unity, factions of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State have come together to consolidate their forces ahead of the 2027 elections.
A reconciliation meeting was held at the residence of the party’s first Lagos chairman, Alhaji Muritala Ashorobi, who also chairs the Reconciliation Committee in the state.
Attendees included prominent figures such as former Deputy National Chairman Chief Olabode George, ex-Minister of Cooperation and Integration Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, former Board of Trustees member Mrs. Aduke Maina, State Chairman Philip Aivoji, retired Captain Tunji Shelle, Alhaji Ramoni Owokoniran, Dr. Niran Adeniji, and other key members.
In a communique released after the session, party leaders vowed to mobilize support across all 20 local government areas to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
The meeting warned any members covertly working for the APC to either cease anti-PDP activities or leave the party immediately.
Leaders stressed that internal dissent and anti-party actions would no longer be tolerated, with the group emphasizing that the APC has consistently disappointed Lagosians, underscoring their determination to reclaim power in the upcoming elections.
