NNPP’s Galadima Accuses FG of Plotting to Rig 2027 Elections

Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has alleged that the Federal Government is making covert plans to rig the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Galadima claimed the government’s tactics include pressuring governors to defect or risk losing political control.

“They openly say it — not that they’ll defeat you at the polls, but that they’ll remove you from power if you refuse to join them,” he said.

Galadima further argued that the lack of strong opposition and the dominance of opportunists in Nigerian politics have emboldened the ruling class.

He also criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting by-elections beyond the constitutionally required three months after vacancies, calling the process “illegal.”

Galadima warned that affected candidates could nullify results if they challenge them in court.

Despite admitting he has never won an elective post, the NNPP stalwart vowed his party would resist manipulation and “teach the government a lesson” in 2027.
