The Ondo State House of Assembly has reportedly divided, with 11 lawmakers supporting Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa amid the political crisis with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
The lawmakers had planned to declare Aiyedatiwa as the acting governor in a scheduled plenary session, but President Bola Tinubu’s intervention paused the move.
The Speaker, Rt Hon. Oladiji, confirmed the meeting with President Tinubu, indicating that the assembly’s next actions would depend on the meeting’s outcome.
Aiyedatiwa faces an impeachment notice, and the state assembly has been a focal point of the political feud in Ondo.
