PDP Expels Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu and Others Over Anti-Party Actions

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled former Rivers State Governor and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose; and factional national chairman Samuel Anyanwu over what it described as persistent anti-party activities.

Their expulsion was approved on Saturday during the PDP National Convention in Ibadan.

The motion, moved by party elder Chief Bode George and seconded by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, received unanimous support.

Also removed were National Legal Adviser Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), Umar Bature, AbdulRahman Mohammed, Mao Chuambuwa, George Turner, Austin Nwachukwu, Abraham Ammah and Dan Orbih.

The decision marks the party’s most sweeping disciplinary action in years, following internal fractures that deepened before and after the 2023 general elections.

Party stakeholders said the expulsions were necessary to stabilise the organisation ahead of a broader overhaul.
