Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate from last year’s elections, has denied claims that he led the August 1 protest in Abuja against rising living costs and hunger.
A viral video purportedly showing Obi at the protest has been debunked by him as a misrepresentation.
Obi clarified that the footage was from a six-week-old event at the Labour Party headquarters involving the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
He denounced the spread of misinformation, emphasizing that he was not involved in the recent protests. Obi also condemned divisive rhetoric and misinformation aimed at discrediting him and other figures.
