The Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for next Monday to consider the separate appeals filed by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election.
The two candidates are seeking to set aside the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Court, which upheld Tinubu’s election victory.
Atiku and Obi argue that the PEPC’s decision was “against the weight of evidence” and that it resulted in a grave miscarriage of justice.
Tinubu and the APC have called for the dismissal of the appeals, claiming they are without merit.
Meanwhile, Atiku has also applied for permission to present a copy of his degree certificate issued by Chicago State University in the USA.
