Tinubu, Atiku Split Buhari’s CPC Bloc Ahead of 2027

The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), founded by late President Muhammadu Buhari, is now sharply divided between supporters of President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

While some former CPC state chairmen have openly declared support for Atiku, others remain loyal to Tinubu, insisting the bloc stays within the APC.

Political analysts say Buhari’s death left a vacuum in the CPC wing of the APC, opening room for fresh alignments ahead of 2027.

Observers warn that the bloc’s influence in Northern Nigeria could become a decisive battleground for future elections.
