Tinubu Sweeps APC Primaries Across Key States

President Bola Tinubu has secured sweeping victories in the All Progressives Congress presidential primaries across several states, signaling strong grassroots support ahead of the 2027 elections.

In Osun, party members overwhelmingly endorsed him, with former Governor Oyetola and other leaders voting in his favour.

In Kano, Tinubu won convincingly in Kabo Ward, the home constituency of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin. Kaduna APC members unanimously backed him across all 255 wards.

The President, who voted in Lagos, described the exercise as proof of internal democracy within the ruling party. Critics, however, note that the near-consensus outcomes raise questions about competitive primaries.

Tinubu’s campaign now moves to consolidate support nationwide as opposition parties also finalise their candidates.

The APC primaries have largely been a formality, with Tinubu expected to be the party’s flagbearer.
