Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and other prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are set to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee over allegations of anti-party activities.
The committee, chaired by Chief Tom Ikimi, was established by the PDP’s National Working Committee to investigate actions that allegedly undermined the party during the primaries.
PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed Wike’s summons during a television interview, noting that his recent comments, including a threat to “put fire” in PDP governors’ states, were unacceptable.
The party has received numerous petitions against Wike and others, calling for disciplinary action. This development follows Wike’s appointment as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory by President Bola Tinubu, despite Wike’s previous criticisms of the PDP.
