President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr. Mohammed Abba Isa as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Disability Matters.
In a statement issued by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, highlighted Mr. Isa’s distinguished advocacy for persons with disabilities, both locally and internationally, spanning over a decade.
Mr. Isa, a graduate of Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri, holds a Master’s in Public Administration earned in 2017 from the same institution.
The President tasks the new appointee with actively creating opportunities for inclusion by incorporating Persons with Disabilities (PWD) requirements and perspectives into the policies and programs of all Federal Government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. Additionally, Mr. Isa will collaborate with sub-national authorities to establish a national consensus on PWD-friendly policies and environmental conditions, working closely with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).
