President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that the era of academic strikes in Nigeria will end as the government’s Students Loans Scheme is set to begin in January 2024.
Speaking at the 29th annual Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized the need for a sustainable credit scheme to support an effective anti-corruption campaign.
He noted that the Student Loan Programme would commence in January 2024, aiming to ensure that students and children have access to higher education without interruptions from strikes.
The scheme aims to provide financial support to students and reduce the need for students to look for money to pay for education. Additionally, it is intended to make it easier for young Nigerians to access higher education and pursue their dreams.
