PSC Opens Portal to Recruit 50,000 Police Constables Nationwide

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has opened the application portal to recruit 50,000 police constables as directed by President Bola Tinubu.

PSC spokesperson, Torty Njoku, said the recruitment drive aims to strengthen community policing, improve internal security and boost manpower across formations nationwide.

Applicants for the General Duty Cadre must possess at least five credits—including English and Mathematics—in WAEC, NECO or equivalent qualifications across no more than two sittings.

The Specialist Cadre requires four credits plus relevant trade tests and at least three years of work experience.

Eligibility conditions include Nigerian citizenship by birth, age limits of 18–25 (General Duty) and 18–28 (Specialists), and mandatory physical, medical and psychological fitness.

Applicants for General Duty must meet a minimum height of 1.67m (males) and 1.64m (females).

The PSC emphasized that the process is free, transparent and merit-based, warning applicants to avoid fraudsters.
