The House of Representatives will convene an emergency plenary on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, according to an internal memo signed by Clerk Dr. Yahaya Danzaria.
The session, directed by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, comes ahead of the nationwide protest scheduled for August 1, 2024, against economic hardship.
The reason for the emergency meeting was not disclosed but is speculated to be linked to the planned demonstration. The House had previously entered recess until September 17.
