Saudi Arabia has announced stringent penalties for pilgrims without NUSUK identification cards during the 2024 Hajj. The fine for first-time offenders is SR10,000 (N3.9 million), with repeat offenders facing up to SR100,000 (N39.8 million).
The NUSUK card, introduced to streamline pilgrim movements, is mandatory for access to holy sites. The National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) has urged Nigerian pilgrims to always carry their ID cards to avoid fines and potential deportation.
NAHCON also emphasized the importance of the NUSUK app for digital card access and warned against aiding unauthorized pilgrims. Pilgrims must adhere to these regulations to ensure a smooth and lawful Hajj experience.
