Senate Summons Security Chiefs Over Rising Insecurity

The Nigerian Senate has summoned heads of security agencies to appear before it next week for an interactive session on the rising spate of insecurity in the country.

The motion, titled “Spate of insecurity in Nigeria,” was sponsored by all 109 senators during Tuesday’s plenary. The Senate Leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, presented the motion, highlighting recent incidents of killings, kidnappings, and banditry in various parts of the country, including Benue, Ekiti, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory.

The interactive session aims to address the challenges and find solutions to the growing insecurity in Nigeria.
