Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, has officially declared Monday, March 11, 2024, as the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan in Nigeria.
The declaration came following the sighting of the new crescent, marking the end of Sha’aban 1445 AH.
Muslims across the country are urged to commence fasting in accordance with Islamic law, dedicating themselves to worship and spiritual reflection during this sacred period.
The Sultan emphasized the significance of unity, peace, and prayer, encouraging Nigerians to embrace religious tolerance and extend support to the less fortunate members of society.
