Tinubu Names Tegbe Global Liaison for China-Nigeria Partnership

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as Director General and Global Liaison Officer for Nigeria’s strategic partnership with China.

The appointment follows the bilateral agreements reached during Tinubu’s recent visit to Beijing. Tegbe, a first-class civil engineering graduate, will lead the Nigeria-China partnership by developing a strategic action plan aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s benefits from the partnership.

His role includes overseeing priority projects, investments, and socioeconomic goals, particularly in infrastructure, rail expansion, and power distribution. The collaboration aligns with Nigeria’s economic diversification strategy.

China’s President Xi Jinping pledged over $51 billion in new financing and support for African development projects, a portion of which will flow to Nigeria.

Tegbe, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, has a strong track record in leading investment initiatives across several Nigerian states.

His appointment highlights Tinubu’s emphasis on building strong international partnerships to drive Nigeria’s economic growth and development.
