Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, dispatched a delegation to Niger Republic to urgently address the ongoing political impasse in the country.
The delegation, led by former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Rtd), includes the Sultan of Sokoto and the President of the ECOWAS Commission.
The delegation’s mission is to engage all stakeholders and seek a conclusive and amicable resolution for the sake of African peace and development.
In addition, another separate delegation led by Ambassador Babagana Kingibe was sent to engage with leaders from Libya and Algeria regarding the Niger crisis.
