Tinubu Slashes Official Travel Delegations by 60% in Major Cost-Cutting Move

President Bola Tinubu has approved a significant reduction of up to 60% in the size of official delegations for both foreign and domestic trips.

The directive, aimed at cutting costs, applies to the President, Vice President, First Lady, and other top government officials.
Foreign trip delegations for President Tinubu are now limited to 20 people, down from 50, while the First Lady’s entourage is restricted to five members, representing over a 60% reduction.

The move is part of an effort to curb wasteful spending and align government prudence with the expectations of Nigerian citizens.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, will monitor compliance with the directive, and violators will face consequences.
