Troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army have arrested a wanted terrorist suspect, Saawuan Wuaiyolna, in Taraba State. The 35-year-old was intercepted on 18 September at Takum Junction, Wukari LGA, while riding a motorcycle.
The Army said preliminary findings showed Wuaiyolna, from Ukum LGA in Benue State, is a top member of the gang led by wanted kingpin Akiki Utivi, aka “Full Fire.” He allegedly entered Wukari to spy on troop movements for planned attacks.
Commander Brig.-Gen. Kingsley Uwa hailed the troops’ bravery, saying the arrest is a major blow to the gang’s operations.
He reaffirmed the Army’s resolve to eliminate criminal groups in Taraba and neighbouring states, urging locals to report suspicious activity.
The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
