The moving Grass to Grace story of MSA Mr Political rings like a familiar tune. It is the story of the life of many people who hoped against hope and clung to a determination to swim out of the ocean of adversity instead of drowning in the poverty and adversity that relentlessly wanted to swallow him.
MSA hailed from Dabban in Lavun local Government of Niger state. From the struggle to ensure that he acquired the necessary educational qualification he moved up to a Master’s degree level. He began his political career from infancy in 1999 when elders and other stakeholders in his community would call on him and his other mates and issued fatherly directives.
They expected the community to practice one party system but he would always go on the oppositions. He had always been on the opposition till 2015 when the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) gained a remarkable victory. He had the opportunity to contest at any level within the local government and state levels but he preferred to build-up people than himself going for such seats.
Though young and vibrant, MSA played the role of mentoring aspiring politicians in his constituency which has yielded results. His support and effort won the seat of his ward councilor for his candidate, Hon. Ahmed Dzungi Dabban, from 2016-2019. He did not stop there; he also played a vital role in the local government chairmanship Campaign and election where he also supported and won the chairmanship seat for Hon. Yakubu Isah Kashikoko as the Chairman of Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
Following these achievements, it was unanimously agreed that MSA be given the seat of secretary to the Hon. Chairman but because of the positive political value in him, Kashikoko pleaded with him and his entire supporters to allow MSA to serve as his Special Adviser Political (SAP) and this was how he gained his popular name ‘POLITICAL’
MSA was again nominated as the Director General to campaign for Hon. Abdullahi Usman Gbatamangi (AUG) to contest for Member House of Rep at the federal level representing Lavun, Edati, Mokwa due to his political achievement and experience. AUG emerged victorious under the MSA DGship in 2015.
His political experience continued to blossom with positive ideas. On his own he started empowering youths and the less privileged within his community and spread all over his federal constituency i.e., Lavun, Edati, Mokwa, Local Government Ares.
The business tycoon lived in Lagos for several years even during the governorship era of Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT). He imbibed most of ASIWAJU character traits during which he uplifted people to the top most level. He also emulated the ASIWAJU in the act of flamboyant giving,. this attitude from the then Lagos state Governor earned him another popular name “ASIWAJU” of Lavun then and now known as ASIWAJU of the entire federal constituency.
Hon. Mohammad Sani Abbas (MSA) is also eminently fit to coordinate all the affairs of Hon. Abubakar Suleiman Kpautagi as the candidate contesting for the Member House of Representatives for the same Lavun, Edati, Mokwa come 2027. Because of his experience in the past for AUG, Kpautagi quickly picked him as his DG campaign mainly because he was tested and trusted,
MSA used all his capacity to see that Kpautagi emerged victorious at the last concluded primary election and today Kpautagi has emerged as the flag bearer of the House of Rep. for Lavun, Edati, Mokwa federal constituency under the platform of the ruling party APC.
MSA as part of his political achievements, has received so many awards and prominent among these awards are:-
The Best Youth Mobiliser of the Year 2026 – by the combined youths of Lavun, Edati, Mokwa local Government Areas, Best Grassroot Politician of the year 2026. Unique DG campaigner of the year 2026 and ASIWAJU of Lavun, Edati, Mokwa, to mention but a few.
It is my view therefore, that MSA types are quickly sourced to showcase their intelligence for the benefit of the common Electorates instead of the recycling of the non-positive impact ones at all time.
