Egypt has been granted the right to host the 2027 African Games by the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).
The Egyptian National Olympic Committee (ENOC) expressed its interest in hosting the games, and ANOCA approved the bid.
Egypt has a history of successfully hosting major sporting events, including the World Handball Cup in 2021, Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in 2006 and 2019, and the U20 African Nations Cup in 2022.
This will be Egypt’s second time hosting the African Games, with the first being in Cairo in 1991.
