Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly set to join Turkish champions Galatasaray on a season-long loan, following the collapse of his transfer to Chelsea.
The Nigerian forward was on the brink of a move to Stamford Bridge, but the deal fell through after he demanded a wage of over £300,000 per week. With his future uncertain, Galatasaray stepped in, agreeing to cover Osimhen’s salary in full.
The Istanbul club has reached an agreement in principle with Napoli, pending final approval from Osimhen.
This move comes after Saudi club Al-Ahli also showed interest but opted to sign Brentford’s Ivan Toney instead. Osimhen’s exclusion from Napoli’s squad list for the 2024-25 season fueled speculation about his departure, making Galatasaray’s offer a timely lifeline for the striker.
