Former UK Prime Minister David Cameron has been appointed as the country’s new Foreign Secretary by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during a recent cabinet reshuffle.
Cameron, who served as Prime Minister from 2010 to 2016, resigned following the outcome of the Brexit referendum. The reshuffle saw Cameron replacing former Foreign Secretary James Cleverly, who, in turn, replaced the sacked Home Secretary Suella Braverman.
Cameron expressed his commitment to addressing international challenges, including the war in Ukraine and the crisis in the Middle East.
His appointment is likely to be welcomed by moderates but could increase tensions within the Conservative Party.
