World leaders have condemned Israel’s deadly airstrikes on Iran, which triggered a swift and forceful retaliation from Tehran, raising fears of a full-scale regional war.
The Israeli attack, which reportedly targeted Iranian nuclear sites and senior military figures, killed over 80 people in Tehran, including women, children, and several nuclear scientists. More than 320 others were injured in the early-morning assault.
In a rapid response, Iran launched hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones, striking Haifa, Tel Aviv, and other northern Israeli cities.
Initial reports confirmed at least 10 deaths and more than 200 injuries in Israel.
Global reaction has been swift and unanimous. China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi condemned the Israeli strike as a “serious breach of international norms.” Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad described it as “atrocious” and “a blatant violation of international law.”
Other nations, including Turkey, the UAE, Brazil, and Bangladesh, echoed the alarm, urging restraint and warning of catastrophic consequences if tensions continue to rise.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for “maximum restraint,” while Germany and France demanded urgent de-escalation.
Amid the chaos, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed “severe vengeance,” and diplomatic talks with the U.S. have been suspended.
The united global condemnation underscores growing concern over the potential fallout from this intensifying conflict.
