At the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, President Bola Tinubu has urged global leaders to back reforms in the UN Security Council (UNSC) that would ensure Africa’s inclusion as a permanent member.
Represented by Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Tinubu proposed two permanent seats for Africa, emphasizing Nigeria’s readiness to serve.
He praised the G20’s decision to admit the African Union and endorsed Brazil’s Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, aligning it with Nigeria’s fight against hunger and poverty.
Tinubu emphasized Africa’s need for equitable representation in global governance.
