PDP Threatens Sanctions Over Tinubu 2027 Endorsements

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned members against endorsing President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 election, describing such moves as anti-party.

The statement follows recent public support for Tinubu by some PDP chieftains.

Party spokesman Debo Ologunagba said the actions violated Section 10(6) of the PDP constitution, which forbids aligning with other parties to undermine the PDP.

He said such behaviour causes division, loss of members, and threatens the party’s electoral prospects.

The National Working Committee (NWC) has issued strong reprimands, warning of stiff sanctions under Section 59(1) if offenders fail to retract. The PDP urged members to remain loyal ahead of its national convention in Ibadan on November 15-16, 2025.

The party insists unity is crucial as it positions itself to challenge the ruling APC in 2027. Ologunagba stressed that loyalty and discipline will determine the PDP’s ability to regain power at the federal level.
